Birth Marks
In this series, mother molds of painting casts act as both origins and repositories, holding layers of history inside while revealing absence outside. Static overlays capture the tension between fixed forms and disruptive noise, echoing disturbances that obscure perception. Select drips and remnants from past works are transformed through mirror and decimation filters—mirrors reflect ambiguous blots that attempt to freeze time, while decimation fragments symbolize the erosion of memory and identity. This interplay of distortion, erosion, and lineage highlights the fragility of what is passed down, inviting reflection on what is preserved, lost, and reimagined over time.
